Complete Holistic Dentistry
3D imagery and CAD/CAM technology are used to create the restorations which are milled out of blocks to create tooth-coloured restorations. Crowns, veneers, onlays and inlays can be prepared, using different types of ceramic materials to restore teeth to their natural aesthetics and function. No different in cost, but a big difference in accommodating your needs.
Why Cerec?
CEREC restorations are fabricated in our dental office in Tijuana from high-quality ceramic material. The ceramic used closely resembles natural enamel in several ways, which makes a CEREC crown more compatible with natural tissues and surrounding structures than alternatives such as metal. An all-ceramic crown will be gentler on tissues, yet strong enough to handle bite force for many years. Ceramic is also similar to natural enamel in the rate at which expansion and contraction occurs when the material is exposed to heat. This characteristic leads to superior fit.
Preservation of natural tooth structure
As much as possible, dentistry is about preservation of natural structures in the mouth. Even when a tooth has been damaged by a large cavity or trauma, there is a benefit in leaving as much remaining tooth structure intact as possible. CEREC inlays and onlays are bonded to teeth for repair, which forms a continuous structure without the need for excessive alteration. Conventional fillings rely on mechanics for retention. This means that a greater portion of the tooth must be removed for a proper fit.
Appearance
Though the appearance of a repaired tooth is not indicative of successful treatment, we are now far more concerned with aesthetics than ever before. CEREC crowns, inlays, and onlays look just like natural teeth, allowing you to feel fully confident when you speak, laugh, or smile. No one can tell which teeth are natural and which have been repaired.
